About Stray Free Bangalore
A registered Section 8 nonprofit working on one specific problem: stopping new community-dog litters from being born onto Bangalore's streets — and the community it takes to do that.
Our mission
Bangalore already has groups doing essential work with the dogs who are on its streets today — feeding, vaccinating, rescuing, and sterilizing. We exist to close the one gap that work can't reach on its own: the birth event that keeps replacing today's strays with tomorrow's. We do that by building a citywide network of everyday residents who can spot a pregnant community dog early, and a facility that can safely see her through birth, weaning, and sterilization before returning her home — with her puppies placed in homes instead of on the street.
Our structure
Stray Free Bangalore operates as a registered Section 8 (non-profit) company. Add registration number once available. A working group of directors sets strategy and funding priorities; ground activity — spotting, pickup, facility operations, and adoptions — is organized and run through six volunteer-led working groups, described on the Community page.
